👉 Product's Overview

The Machine Inside the Mind.

A full human skull, rendered in precise anatomical detail from orbital cavity to occipital bone — but the right temporal region has been opened up to reveal what lies beneath: a fully articulated system of interlocking gears, cogs and mechanical components set into a recessed cavity, as if the skull were always a machine and we are only now seeing its workings. The Steampunk Gear Skull Sculpture combines classical anatomical sculpting with Victorian mechanical engineering aesthetics — riveted steel panel plating across the cranium, a layered gear train visible through the open temporal window, a secondary gear at the cheekbone, and mechanical pipe and bracket detail running beneath the jawline.

It arrives in your choice of White or Grey, and takes paint beautifully — making it an exceptional canvas for customisation as well as a striking display piece straight out of the box.

  • Exposed Gear Mechanism Temporal Window — The right temporal region of the skull is replaced by an open recessed cavity containing a fully sculpted multi-layer gear train: a large primary cog with full tooth detail, two secondary cogs of different sizes intermeshing with it, a small tertiary pinion gear at the lower edge, and a central axle hub. Every gear is individually rendered with tooth-by-tooth precision. The mechanical interior reads as genuinely functional from any viewing angle.
  • Riveted Steel Panel Plating Across the Cranium — The cranial surface is divided into four large armour plate sections separated by recessed seam lines and lined with rows of individual raised rivet heads — replicating the aesthetic of Victorian steam-era boiler plating and ironwork. The plating covers the full parietal and frontal cranium and wraps around to the rear occipital plate, giving the skull a fully armoured mechanical appearance from every angle.
  • Full Anatomical Skull Beneath the Mechanism — Beneath the mechanical additions, the skull retains complete anatomical accuracy: deep orbital cavities with supraorbital ridges, a defined nasal aperture, full upper and lower dentition with individually sculpted teeth, and a naturally proportioned cranial structure. The mechanical and anatomical elements are fully integrated — neither dominates, and together they create a coherent sculptural identity.
  • Mechanical Pipe & Bracket Jaw Detail — The lower jaw carries an additional mechanical element: a curved pipe or bracket form runs beneath the jawline, connecting to a small gear at the cheekbone and reinforcing the mechanical jaw structure. This jaw detail is subtle but precise and rewards close inspection.
  • Available in White or Grey — Paint It Your Way — Supplied in your choice of clean White or neutral Grey, both of which serve as excellent bases for display straight out of the box or for custom painting. The smooth matte surface accepts acrylic paint, washes, dry-brushing and weathering techniques exceptionally well — bronze the gears, age the plating with brown ink, blackline the rivets, or paint the full skull in any scheme you choose. An outstanding painter's canvas as well as a finished piece.
  • Exceptional Detail for Painters & Customisers — The gear teeth, rivet heads, panel seam lines, pipe curves and tooth rows all provide ideal surfaces for dry-brushing and wash techniques. A light brown ink wash followed by a gold dry-brush on the gears and a dark iron dry-brush on the plating creates a fully convincing steampunk aged-metal finish in under an hour.
  • For Steampunk, Gothic, Dark Academia & Collector Displays — A display-quality sculpture that works as a steampunk centrepiece, a gothic shelf statement, a dark academia desk piece, a Halloween focal point, or a collector's display item. Equally compelling on a bookshelf, a bar cart, a mantelpiece, or a gaming desk.
  • Designed & Made in the United Kingdom — Precision-crafted for sculptural detail and lasting quality.

The gears were always there. You just couldn't see them before.
