The Swirl & Shine Desk Lamp is built around a genuinely original idea: a lamp shade that works in two layers simultaneously. The outer layer is a ribbed, twisted form — a tall, gently tapered cylinder whose surface is defined by a series of closely spaced vertical ribs that curve and rotate as they rise, giving the shade a dynamic, swirling quality that seems to shift and move as you change your viewing angle. The inner layer is a smooth, upright cylinder that houses the light source and acts as the primary diffuser, casting a warm, even, softly glowing core at the heart of the lamp.

Between the two layers, something remarkable happens. The warm light from the inner cylinder passes through the gaps between the outer ribs, projecting fine lines of light and shadow outward into the room in an ever-changing pattern as you move around the lamp. The ribs themselves are backlit from within, their edges catching the glow and appearing to pulse with quiet warmth.
