Woodlike Vase
The warmth of wood. The versatility of a vase. A piece that looks as if it was carved from nature itself.
The Woodlike Vase is a tall, upright sculptural vessel whose surface is defined by a series of flowing vertical channels and ridges that run from the base to the wide open crown of the piece, creating a richly textured surface reminiscent of the grain, furrows, and natural formations found in aged hardwood. Each channel follows a gently organic, slightly undulating path from the bottom of the vase to the top, never perfectly straight, always subtly shifting in width and depth as it travels upward, so that the overall surface reads as something formed by a natural process rather than a mechanical one. Where adjacent channels meet at the ridges between them, the transition is sharp and defined, creating a strong graphic contrast of highlight and shadow across the faceted surface that shifts and changes as ambient light moves around the piece or as you move around it.
The overall silhouette of the vase is tall and gently tapered, widening gradually from the base to the open crown in a resolved, architectural profile that gives the piece genuine presence and scale on any surface. The wide open crown makes the vase highly practical for use with both fresh and dried botanicals, accommodating a broad range of stem sizes and allowing loose, natural arrangements to be displayed without constraint. When used empty as a standalone decorative object, the wide opening frames the deep interior shadow against the textured outer surface, adding a further layer of depth and interest to the piece.
Available in thirteen colour options, the Woodlike Vase works across a remarkably broad range of interior styles. The quieter neutral options — White, Beige, Grey — integrate seamlessly into any setting and allow the texture of the surface to read as the primary design statement. The deeper saturated options — Black, Brown, Blue, Green — give the piece a bold, grounded presence and reference the darker tones of natural hardwood directly. The brighter and neon options bring a contemporary, unexpected energy to the wood-inspired form, creating a deliberately playful tension between the organic surface language and the vivid colour.
Key Features
-
Flowing vertical channels and ridges creating a deeply textured wood-grain-inspired surface — the entire outer surface of the vase is shaped by a series of broad, flowing vertical channels that run from the base to the crown of the piece, each following a gently organic, slightly undulating path upward that shifts subtly in width and depth as it travels, so the surface reads as something formed by a natural process rather than a mechanical one; where adjacent channels meet at the ridges between them the transition is sharp and precisely defined, creating a strong graphic faceted character that produces a continuous interplay of highlight and shadow across the surface as ambient light moves around the piece; at close range the individual channels, their subtle undulations, and the crisp definition of the ridges between them reward careful inspection; from a distance the overall surface reads as richly textured and three-dimensional, giving the vase a strong material presence that is immediately distinguished from smooth ceramic or glass alternatives
-
Tall, gently tapered silhouette with architectural presence and scale — the vase rises from a stable, resolved base and widens gradually toward the wide open crown in a tall, upright profile that gives the piece genuine height and presence on any surface; the proportions of the piece — the ratio of base to crown width, the overall height, and the depth and frequency of the vertical channels — are carefully considered to give the vase a strong, architectural character that reads clearly both as a standalone object and as part of a broader room composition; the tall silhouette makes the piece particularly effective on lower surfaces such as sideboards, console tables, and coffee tables, where the height of the vase creates a natural vertical accent in the room without competing with eye-level furniture or architecture
-
Wide open crown suited to loose, natural botanical arrangements — the vase opens broadly at the crown, providing a wide, unobstructed opening that accommodates a broad range of stem sizes and allows fresh or dried botanicals to be arranged loosely and naturally without the constraint of a narrow neck; the wide opening is equally effective for single large statement stems — a tall branch of eucalyptus, a stem of pampas grass, a single overscale dried flower — and for loose bunches of mixed florals arranged informally; when the vase is displayed empty the wide opening frames the deep interior shadow against the richly textured outer surface, adding a further layer of visual depth and interest to the piece
-
Thirteen colour options spanning neutrals, rich tones, and vivid neons — available in Purple, White, Orange, Green, Brown, Beige, Black, Grey, Blue, Red, Pink, Neon Green, and Neon Purple; the neutral options — White, Beige, Grey — allow the texture of the surface to read as the primary design statement and integrate seamlessly into any interior; the darker saturated options — Black, Brown, Blue, Green — give the piece a bold, grounded presence and reference the deeper tones of natural hardwood directly; the brighter options — Orange, Red, Pink, Purple — bring warmth and energy to the organic surface form; the neon options — Neon Green, Neon Purple — create a deliberately playful tension between the wood-inspired surface language and vivid contemporary colour
-
Stable base providing a secure, non-tipping footprint — the vase sits on a resolved base that is proportioned to provide a stable, non-tipping footprint on any flat surface; the transition from base to body follows the organic vertical channel language of the overall piece, maintaining a consistent design character from the bottom of the vase to the crown; the stable base makes the piece practical and safe for use with water and fresh flowers as well as as a dry decorative vessel
-
Versatile placement across every room and surface — equally effective on a dining table as a centrepiece, a sideboard or console as a decorative object, a windowsill holding a single stem, a bathroom surface, a kitchen worktop, a bedroom shelf, or a home office desk; the tall profile and the broad range of colour options make the Woodlike Vase suitable for use in any interior context where a sculptural decorative object or a practical botanical vessel would enhance the space
-
Made in the United Kingdom — designed and crafted in Britain with close attention to the flow and resolution of the vertical channel geometry, the organic character of the surface, the proportions of the tapered silhouette, and the quality of the piece as both a sculptural object and a functional vase
